Waste Management picks up the garbage in the city limits of New Haven for residential customers. The cost for garbage collection is $9.25 a month. This charge is included on your sewer bill. You will be provided a 96-gallon tote from WM. One added benefit from Waste Management is that they allow customers at no extra charge, to put out one bulky item per month (1st Friday of each month) to be picked up along with garbage.
If you put out an item with fabric on it, the item has to be wrapped in plastic. Please call City Hall if you plan on putting a bulky item out, so that WM can be notified in advance. Please review the following document for acceptable and unacceptable items.

If you live outside the City limits, you will need to contact Nelson County Landfill at 348-1876 to set up your garbage collection service.
